This the home page of
About me
I'm Umm Abdullah Tamarah bint Yusuf
Skyers. I was brought up as a
Christian and reverted to this beautiful faith of Islam in 1995.
I'm mother of three children: Adbullah, Abdur Rahmaan and Al-Jawharah.
I decided to do this home page in the aid of offering help to my
dear Muslim Sisters you take on the great and noble task of
educating their children. Also there isn't a lot of websites
available to British Home Schoolars. Since home schooling hasn't
taken Britain by storm the way it has in America. There are
thousands of American sites available to Home Schoolars, and
resources. Masha Allah but I'm yet to find a British site, which
offers the help and resources which these others sites offer. I've been Home
Schooling for the past 2 years. This has been an on and off
process. It wasn't until I gave birth to my last
child (so far insha Allah), that I came to the realization that I
needed to do something good, constructive, beneficial and worth
while for my kids. Also I noticed they were feeling neglected
after the birth of Al-Jawharah. The reason been they always had their
quality time with me teaching them and taking an interest in their
well being. Now all this seem to have changed. My days were
becoming a bit of a nightmare, with them doing silly things and always fighting. I
decided if I didn't do something about it, all the potential my
children have would be wasted, as the best years to mould a
child's character is between the age of 0-7 years. Also if I
didn't wake up to my responsibilities towards them, than Shaytaan
will surely be their leader. And as we know verily Shaytaan is an
open enemy unto you. So I spoke to my
husband about my idea of starting to properly educate my children
and with the help of Allah it will be a continuous process insha
Allah. So we looked up Home Schooling on the internet and to my
surprise there were a lot of other sisters doing the same thing.
May Allah reward them for taking an interest in their children and
the next generation of Muslims ameen. So to cut a long story short
I gathered my materials, organized myself, joined a Muslim home
schooling e mail group at smart groups call Muslim Teachers United
to exchange ideas and resources. And here I am after my full first
term of home schooling, I have to say it's been a rewarding,
exciting, having a lot of patience, wonderful experience with my
children after seeing what I've achieved with them, and I'm
looking forward to next term insha Allah.
My
only problem was the resources for the British Curriculum wasn't
so easy to come by, so hopeful with this site you will have easy
insha Allah.
So please step this way and Enjoy this wonderful experience.
