Intro to What is Islaam

Allah said: "And I Allah created not the jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me (Alone)"  (Adh Dharaiyat v:56)

So the only reason Allah ,the Creator ,the One, the Absolute, who has no Partners, created mankind is to worship Him alone and not to associate anyone with Him in worship. This is what Islaam means: submission to the Creator Allah and one who submits to His Creator Allah is called a Muslim. The words are only Arabic, because that was the language which the Prophet spoke. All the Prophets and Messengers of Allah came with the same message worship one God, nothing more and nothing less.

Islaam is based on five Pillars, these are the Foundation of the Religion. They are:

1) As Shahaadataan: La illaha illa Allah wa Muhammad Ar Rasoolu Allah. There is no God worthy of worship except Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. (click here)

2) Iqamat as Salaat

We have been prescribe to offer Prayer five times a day. Allah (swt) said: And perform As Salaat at the two ends of the day and in the hours of the night five compulsory Salaat. (Hud v:114)

Allah (swt) also said : Perform As Salaat from mid- day till darkness of the night (Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha) and recite the Quraan in the early dawn the morning prayer. Verily, the recitation of the Quraan in the early dawn is ever witness (attended by the angels in charge of mankind of the day and the night. (Al Isra v: 78)

Turning our faces towards Makkah. Allah (swt) said:Verily! We have seen the turning of your face towards the heavens. Surely, We shall turn you to a Qiblah prayer direction) that shall please you, so turn your face in the direction of Al Masjid Al Haraam (at Makkah). And where so ever you people are turn your faces in prayer in that direction. Certainly, the people who were given the Scripture know well that, that your turning towards the direction of the Ka'ba at Makkah in prayers is the truth from their Lord. And Allah is not unaware of what they do.( Al Baqarah v:144)

One purifies oneself before offering the prayer. Allah said: O' you who believe! When you intend to offer As Salaat, wash your faces and your hands forearms up to the elbows, rub passing wet hands over your heads and wash your feet up to the ankles. (Al Maidah v:6)

 3) Zakaat obligatory Charity:

Allah said: And perform As Salaat and give Zakaat and obey the Messenger that you may receive mercy from Allah (Nur v:56)

Also in surah Ar Rum v:39 Allah (swt) said: And that which you give in gift to others, in order that it may increase (your wealth by expecting to get better one in return) from other people's property, has no increase with Allah; but that which you give in Zakaat seeking Allah's Countenance, then those, they give have manifold increase.

4)  As Saum Fasting in the blessed month of Ramadaan:

Allah (swt): The month of Ramadaan in which was revealed the Quraan, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the criterion between right and wrong. So whoever of you sights the crescent of the first night of the month of Ramadaan , he must observe Saum fasting that month. (Al Baqarah v: 185)

Also ( Al Baqarah v:187) Allah said: And eat and drink until the white thread (light of dawn) appears to you distinct from the black thread (darkness of night), then complete your saum fats till the nightfall.

5)  Hajj Pilgrimage to the scared  House in Makkah

Allah (swt) said: And Hajj to the House  Ka'ba is a duty that mankind owes to Allah, those who can afford the expenses for one's conveyance, provision and residence ;and whoever disbelieves (ie denies Hajj) then he is a disbeliever of Allah, then Allah stands not in the need of any of the Alamin (mankind, jinn and all that exist.) (Al Imran v:97)

Please if you can not  give alms or send money to help our brothers and sisters suffering than make Du'a for them

Verily to Allah belongs all Power.

O' Lord! Pour forth on us patience, and set  firm our feet and make us victorious over the disbelieving people

Surah Al Baqarah (2 (v:250)
